Ms. Buckner's story unfolds in 1989 when the leading muse, Rachel Morse makes a painfully decision to turn down a career opportunity of a lifetime in Corporate America to give back a piece of herself that she had borrowed from someone else. Five years into the pinnacle of her profession, Morse is professionally setup on an alleged embezzlement by someone connected to her past, a Southern Tycoon, Charles S. Mullen. In fact, he's harboring hate that goes back fifteen years ago and is now on a psychological destructive path to destroy her. Morse plunges into a fierce and convoluted legal courtroom battle as she struggles to put together the pieces of her life in a desperate search for answers and yet faced with the reality that she has four small children who depend solely on her.  “For several nights I cried myself to sleep hiding behind whatever shelter I could find.  There was no one that I truly wanted to be a part of my life at this time.  I found myself engrossed daily in the writing of my manuscript.  I remembered Chuck asking me one day, Rachel why do you write so much? I remember answering him by saying, there may come a day when I needed a refuge or need to be able to relive a moment from my past that would get me through my present, then I would have those moment at my fingertips.  I was in a place now where I needed to relive some great moments of courage, strength, love and devotion daily.  There were so many devils that had rained on my parade in the past and the parade went on.  I needed so desperately at this moment to allow the parade to go on in my life.” Taken from page 140-141 of the novel.
She spends five years serving time-locked up inside a mental prison-for a crime she didn't commit. My question in the beginning was what had she done to deserve this type of punishment? That was the harrowing mystery to this story and unfortunately there was only one way to find out-an old drifter, a once upon a time reporter. This spectacular story make you wish you could've met the woman before the woman who went through the worst five years of her life. Over a decade of Ms. Buckner's implausible life experience is shared in this heartwarming saga that began when she was six years old growing up not knowing how many tears God had placed in her eyes when a very sad girl tried to hide inside her pain because of the absence of her mother-and today realizing that it was an endless amount.
